By Road
Salzburg enjoys excellent connections to international motorways, making the city easy to reach. Traveling to the Salzburg from inside Austria take the A1 or A10 autobahn or drive in from Germany on the A8.
In downtown Salzburg, all parking is fee-based. That’s why we recommend parking at one of the P+R car parks, then riding public transportation for free with your badge into the city center.
Prior to arriving in Salzburg, and if you are going to be staying at a downtown hotel, be sure to check out details about the hotel directional system as well as how to cope with the road bollards. All autobahns and expressways in Austria are toll roads. A toll exemption applies to the section between Walserberg and Salzburg Nord.
Messezentrum Salzburg is located directly alongside the A1 motorway. You can reach the location via the “Messe” exit. Traffic signs in the city and on the motorway will show you the way.
